I don't think you're really the doctor type.. But than again neither am I..
[/quote]

Oh, so what "type" am I, exactly? Not the "type" to ask inappropriate questions, at least.

No.. It's possibly the same sort of thing. I did not have a rash.. We have lymph nodes all over our bodies -- in our groins, under our arms, in our breasts. They can swell due to a minor infection -- that has nothing to do with cancer!

Why don't you sit back and have a big bowl of shut it stew? It can be rather good for you at times. Nobody want's to hear about your dang rash!!!!!

Well, I'm the nurse type. The kind with RN at the end of my name.

Your speculation about someone else's illness is a bit misplaced in the context of this thread. This is someone asking for prayer, not asking to be given the third degree. I will believe that you were asking with good intentions, but your phrasing leaves something to be desired.

Please, think before posting.

But you're a nurse, so you know what I'm talking about. I don't think that it's misplaced because she's worried and it's possibly something minor and it might be a big relief for her to know that there are simple harmless causes of lumps in our bodies -- other than cancer.

Cancer should be pretty rough shaped, right? And if it doesn't feel unusually rough than it's probably not cancer? Am I right?

Have you had cancer? Or are you an oncologist?

If you answered no to both of those questions then please, with all due respect, shut your pie hole with the medical advice...

I am a nurse and I do know what you were talking about. I also have extensive oncology experience.

The problem is that you don't seem to get what others are talking about. I could tell people a lot about cancer, but I'm not. My advice was not solicited. My prayers, on the other hand, were.

You should think more about trying to be compassionate and less about demonstrating knowledge on infectious disease.

I can appreciate the curiosity that arises when details are sparse. I'm as inquisitive as they come. That said, I'd rather keep specifics limited to those who need to know - such as my NP mother. Thank you again for the prayers.

Christie, thanks for the Agnes specification.

I apologize if I was being too intrusive. I'll pray that things turn out the best for you.

Take care

Thanks for the bump, cmom. I can't explain how reassuring it is to have so many folks who "got my back", so I won't try. Missy, I'm not sure which Agnes you were talking about, so they've all gotten a good ear tugging. ;)

I have a mammogram on Monday. More as I know.

Christie clarified for me, and it's a good thing, too. My response would have been something like, "The one that was martyred after her breasts were cut off." Hey, {i]I[//] knew which one I meant. ;) In any case, I think the whole lot of them would love to pray for you, anyway. Saints are wonderful that way.

Asking for details and then talking about your groin is just plain WRONG, dude.

You're so cute, Erin.

Missy, I think I'm glad Christie answered too.

Okay, an update. I had a mammogram and ultrasound today. The radiologist told me she thinks what I found is benign. She wants to biopsy it for caution's sake, which I understand and appreciate. It's my tissue, for pity's sake! If any are still interested in praying, pray for a clean biopsy. Also, a thank you to Ss. Jude, Florian, Agnes of Rome, Peregrine, the other Agneses, and all PMers who decided to get my back.
