Ellenita
Wonderful, wonderful Easter Vigil! All my family came to see me being confirmed - none of them have been inside a Catholic church before, so it was an amazing experience for them - they had lots of questions afterwards, as you can imagine! I'm dancing with joy! Praise God for the gift of His Son. He is risen, Hallelujah!
Pio Nono
JMJ 4/11 - Easter Sunday
Have you met Fr. Altier?
I've met him a couple of times, but he's so bad with names that he wouldn't remember who I was if I lived in the rectory. BTW, he said the Easter Vigil Mass tonight, which was sooo good (for you HSR fans). I was expecting Fr. Welzbacher to sing the Mass, though - his voice sounds like something you'd hear on the radio on Sunday mornings...absolutely beautiful.
marielapin
My husband and I went to the Easter Vigil last night. Last night I have officially been Catholic for 3 years. The Easter Vigil is my absolute favorite service of the entire year....the Easter Exultant sung at the beginning just gives me goosebumps!!! I'm so glad you went, Adam and Teresa! And I just wanted to say that I was praying for all of you who came into the Church last night!! We had one of the most motley groups receiving the Sacraments last night. There were the usual adults being baptized, Confirmed, First Eucharist, etc and those who were being received, Confirmed and First Eucharist. But we also had one person (infant) who was only baptized (her sister was baptized and received in the Church), there were some that were only received, and some that were only Confirmed, and we had a good amount of people who only received First Eucharist!! It was awesome. But thank goodness for pews cause I had trouble standing up the entire time I was supposed to.
cmotherofpirl
To all our new brother and sister Catholics Welcome home! Make you present your spotless robes to Him, on the last day. Edited April 11, 2004 by cmotherofpirl
cmotherofpirl
Last night's Easter vigil was probably our last as a parish. It was very hard not to cry. I got home in time to watch St Paul Cathedral's Vigil Mas live on cable. I just love Bishop Weurl; his Joy in the Lord is contagious and comforting as he baptised the multitude of new Catholics. homeschoolmom
I was expecting Fr. I was at Easter Mass there and I was going to ask you, "who's the guy who sounds like he belongs on the radio?" I was refering to his speaking voice. During the homily, I kept expecting him to quote the hog prices or something. Beautiful speaking voice. I don't know if I'm thinking of the same guy or not, though. Btw, What's HRS? cmotherofpirl
I live in a milltown that has lost 60% of its population in the last 30 years. Everybody moved to the suburbs, or just moved. My Church has very few young families, its mostly senior citizens, we will have no weddings at all this year. Our pastor will retire next year for health reasons, and so does the pastor down the street. It is logical that we will be supressed, and our congregation moved to another Church. Demographically it makes sense, but it doesn't stop the breaking of our hearts. My family joined this parish in 1912, and it is full of memories.
