I would like a Protestant to show me in the Bible where it says to use only the Bible. :blink:

Or show me where there is no authority in the Church and not to stand and hold to Traditions. :blink:

God Bless
Jason

If you reply JS,
I'll look at it later, The Holy Mass calls I must recieve Our God in the Holy Eucharist and pray.

I will be happy to have a heart to heart discussion. I am Roman Catholic but my mission is to show charity, love and mercy to all that I meet.

Look foward to the discussion. I will pray for you and you pray for me.

He is Risen

NewReformation

"Traditions" in the Greek does not refer to rituals or other such things, as we think of 'tradition' in the English Language. "Traditions" means more of doctrinal teaching.

Furthermore, scripture does not support the concept that the Church IS the Truth. The Church is the foundation of the truth. Truth is found in God's Word. The Church holds up God's Word as Truth.

Right. And God's Word is more than just the Bible.

Church = Foundation of Truth
Truth = God's Word
Then: The Church is the foundation of God's Word

Hmmm...I disagree slightly. I see the church(universal) as the pillar/foundation which holds up the Truth, but in and of itself is not truth.

The Church is made up of people.
People are fallible.
All People.
The Bible is God's Word.
Therefore, the Bible is infallible.

But I just thought you said that God's Word was Truth? Is it not? And then I thought you said that the Church is the the foundation of Truth. Is it not? And then wouldn't that make the Church the foundation of God's Word?

Catholics agree that the Bible is infallible. But we recognize that individual interpretations are not infallible. What good is an infallible document if it can only be fallibly interpreted?

This is why we believe the Church to be infallible, as well as the Bible--for without an infallible interpretor, an infallible document would only be infallible by definition--but have no real world application of it's infallibility.
