thicke
Don't worry, we (Jews) are willing to forgive

And he knelt down and cried with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them."
Act 7:60 Saint Stephen, a Hellenisitc Jew said this as he was being marytered by stoning by a group from the Temple. Everyone is capable of forgiveness, it is up to us to do it. Part of our Chrisitan belif system is that we can not be forgiven our sins by God unless we forgive those who have sinned against us. Enda
Ashley: According to a documentary done by the BBC the Spainish Inquistion is really more of a myth. Once you take out all the documents from unbiased people you discover that they likely only excuted about as many people a year as the state of Texas, and all of these people were posed an actual threat to the Spainish monarchy. It really wasn't that bad of an injustice.
Brother Adam
We shouldn't downplay the inquisition, but we shouldn't over due it either. You have to be very careful about your sources, there are a lot of people out there who want to discredit Catholicism because of hate. Remember though- just as we don't hold Germans today accountable for the actions of Hitler, we can't hold Christians today accountable for the actions of the inquisition. You are my favorite Non-Catholic. lol.
True true. So, I have a question for you, Ashley... Did you come to this board just to tell us all to die? I mean, I will, eventually, but what's the point? You're condemning us for something that people under the name of the Church did a LONG time ago, and you're telling us to die? That's not very nice, Ashley. We aren't condemning you...you shouldn't either. Especially not obviously going out of your way to do it. That's all I have to say...I'm gone! theculturewarrior
Alexander VI, the infamous Borgia Pope, condemned the Spanish Inquisition, and IIRC, Spain continued in disobedience to the Pope. Your beef is with Queen Isabel the Catholic, not with us. (And you will be glad to know she is already dead).

benedict_x
Don't worry, we (Jews) are willing to forgive
Peace to you. I hope you didnt come to our board just to post such a swift judgement before even asking why/what exactly happened. If you did it would be very unfair towards us cause we didnt even get the chance to explain. It'll be like me going on to a Jewish board and writing "Die Jews Die" for killing Jesus. But you dont see us doing that right? We ask and seek understanding on the events that led to the incident. Please do not make such a quick judgement on us. homeschoolmom
It'll be like me going on to a Jewish board and writing "Die Jews Die" for killing Jesus. yiannii
Die Catholics Die
and it's revengeful, unforgiving, and narrow minded views like that that spark things like genocide. but don't you worry, the CC will be heavily persecuted near the end times. i am already seeing signs of this in my own life.
