KeenanParkerII
Here are two pictures from the second shelf of my desk (the whole shelf looks like this, pretty much): And here is my night table, home to many of my Catholic books: The ribbons in my Bible are not equal lengths because my cat likes to chew on them.
Sweet collection. lol @ the pink rosary, very cute. My cat likes to sit on my Bible and chew the ribbons too. >=T
Dashboard mini-shrine; not mine - a friend's. Tridenteen
JMJ my dresser is my private altar. The top has a a statue of OLG that is a foot and a half tall. And around her are my statues and relics. I don't need much of a mirror, since there is one on my door, so I have taped holy cards all over the mirror (one of those 3 way ones). It actually is nice, I think. We also have a chapel at the top of our stairs, with a life sized Crucifix, and several icons and pictrures hanging around it. Several votive candles as well. then we have one in our living room, which has a Last Rites Crucifix and two icons on it (and an ICJ from Prague). Out of curiosity, how did you obtain it? Edited February 11, 2010 by Resurrexi
KeenanParkerII
I'm not surprised by the wealth of awesomeness that Tridenteen has. I'm also curious how you got these relics. Indiana jones style perhaps?
KeenanParkerII
Allright, I have a pretty small student's room and I'm on a student budget, but managed to get something set up today. Which also forced me to clean my room. I'm still hoping to find a crucifix sometime soon, but I did manage to scrounge all my Catholic stuff together, which is a good start. I've got an icon of St.Michael that's painted on a large wood tablet, a picture of Mary and baby Jesus, a Bible, a prayer book, 4 rosaries (I know..), a scapular I'm saving for after my baptism, a bronze chalice-like candle holder, and an assortment of Catholic books. = ] Oh, and a calendar. Woot. HisChild
VERY nice! What's the chalice? Is it for incense?
KeenanParkerII
I like the icon of St. Michael!
Thanks Res, my friends mom painted it for me. She's a really good artist.
VERY nice! What's the chalice? Is it for incense?
It's just a regular candle holder, but it has another piece you can screw into the bottom and it can hold a small candle or incense. It's solid metal and pretty old, so I'm really quite happy with it.
Guest Magis
Right on. Me too. I'm thinking of getting rid of my bed entirely and just putting an altar/shrine in there. (To Ephrem: I see lots of Catholic article calling them altars, but yeh I've heard people call them shrines before.) KeenanParkerII
Dude! That's funny, in a creepy sort of way. <__< You have a very nice altar! Did you post it on fisheaters? I can't remember where I found them.
