We Need To Evolve - But To Where?

Bruce, do you honestly think we do not know all about traditionalism. there are two major heresies plaguing the people of the Church today: ULTRA-TRADITIONALISM (the schismatic kind); and MODERNISM.

We must battle both, and trust in Christ that the Church will make it through unharmed, for we know it will not succumb.

John Paul II is a great man. He can make mistakes... of course we need someone to be Paul to JPII's Peter sometimes, but not on matters of rock-solid teaching; for we know that when the Rock teaches, not John Paul II, but POPE JOHN PAUL II, then it is solid and massive as KEPHA. He cannot lead the Church into blatent heresy. why? because GOD WONT LET HIM. it's the only time God imposes upon a man's free will, stopping any pope from leading the Church into blatant heresy, and it's out of His love and desire to give us a Pillar which all men through the entire world can look to for Truth.

Traditionalists are in error, modernists are in error. we must hold fast to tradition as if it were a surfboard, and ride the wave of the moving of the spirit that we may continue to enter, along with the whole Church, ever more deeply into the Ocean of God's Truth (hehe, in this ocean the waves go out into the deep, further and further away from the beach that is the world's relativistic truth)

If the LEFT is borderline schismatic...

And the RIGHT is borderline schismatic...

Who defines the MIDDLE non schismatics?

And where is the EXACT breaking point, so one knows what camp each faction really is?

It sort of reminds me of the middle ages, when there were THREE Popes concurrently at one point in time, each one of which, had excommunicated the other two, and any that followed that Pope.

Thus, ALL Catholics were excommunicated at one time, by one or the other.

Grin.

I know, I know, sorry.

See why an OFFICAL government posing as Jesus's church is so messy.

Can't tell the players without a scorecard, and I'm rather serious here.

I would be...gasp, gag.

An Ultratraditionalist if I bought into this at all.

Bet that one suprprised a lot of you.

Honest.

Anyone who believes every dogma of the Catholic Church and submitts to the Pope is a true Catholic. Most liberals fail to meet the first criterion. A few traditionalists fail to meet the second (such as the SSPX, who went into schism when Abp. Levebvre disobeyed a direct disciplinary order of the Pope).
