I don't even think there is anyone watching the place while its open, so having a tabernacle would risk having the Sacred Host tampered with. Jim
St. Francis Chapel is staffed by the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, a Roman Catholic religious congregation of priests and brothers. a nice, unadorned, quite place in a big, fast, crowded city. laudable_exchange
Hi, The Oblates of the Virgin Mary staff both St. Francis Chapel (in the Prudential Mall) and St. Clement's just down the street. The chapel does have a tabernacle but it is off to the right of what is in the photos. By the way, St. Clement's is now a perpetual adoration church (since August). zunshynn
The Little Brothers of St. Francis! You'd have to call ahead to see if their chapel is open for people to visit during the day, but I want to say that it is. They're an awesome community... a friend of mine's brother is one of the friars.
BG45
shopping mall Catholic church I did find one Roman Catholic church where I least expected during my stay in Boston, in a shopping mall of all places. It was by far the plainest or simplest decorated chapel I have ever seen. It is located at the base (ground floor) of the 52 story prudential building. There was a nice restaurant on top and observation deck on the 50[sup]th[/sup]floors that was quite grand. This picture is the main alter, that is visible from the shopping mall lobby. The priest in charge, said the chapel has been there since 1965
Is that the St. Francis chapel? I know I walked by a chapel in a mall at Copley Plaza on my final day in Boston. As to the OP, if you don't mind taking the Charlie, then you could easily hit up St. Clement's Eucharistic Shrine. Edit: Ah it is St. Francis Chapel. That teaches me not to read all the way through first. Edited February 7, 2010 by BG45

The address is 1105 Boylston; the closest T stop is Hynes on the green line.
