Dvořák is my favorite composer ever. I just love his Stabat Mater. I borrowed it from the library years ago and fell in love with it. I finally got a recording of it for Christmas and I LOVE LOVE LOVE listening to it.

Plus, he's a Bohemian (I have some roots there...) and he has a bit of a resemblance to Raphael: Wiki Photo

That's about it. I just wanted to express my love for Dvořák. Thank you and good day!

Come on Ang, you can make the post more Catholic then that! Is it an eros, agape, or phileos love?

I saw that you were back on here...

Sorry Nihil... No keyboards... I thought Antonin before Dvorak might have given it away though...

I don't know the first name of the guy that invented that keyboard style. :P

I support this thread. I am a fanatic of this composer!!! He is my favorite next to John Phillip Sousa :)

Listen to his New World Symphony and this Americana Symphony. His Slavic Dances are great too. This guy hasn't written anything I don't like!!

OIC.

Edit: His name was August; also a distant relative of the composer.

I have not listened to the Americana Symphony, but New World and the Slavonic Dances really are great. My sister just performed a movement from New World in orchestra in the fall. I have a few other recordings of his works on my computer. The Czech Suite is good too. There is one string quartet (I think) that I really enjoy as well.

I don't think I've listened to Dvorak in years. I should revisit him. Tchaikovsky, however, makes me uber happy! Marche Slave is amazing. And the Nutcracker Suite is my very favorite.
