He carries me
Ok, so I really wanted to start a game..... Well, I don't know if I should call it a game though, maybe that's a little bit irreverent. What I want to do is start with Genesis, and have someone post an interesting Scripture verse (or verses) from each book of the Bible -- in order. This way we can learn some great verses and also a little bit about the order of the books of the Bible (if you haven't already memorized the names with some handy little jingle...) Ok, GO!!!! prov31girl
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
benedict_x
The first part is easy.. 1 In the beginning God created heaven, and earth. 2 And the earth was void and empty, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God moved over the waters. 3 And God said: Be light made. And light was made. 4 And God saw the light that it was good; and he divided the light from the darkness. Now tell me what better way to start a beautiful story! prov31girl
Exodus 15:1-2 I will sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him. homeschoolmom
no one wants to do Numbers? I love this game, but someone will have to let me know when the deuterocanonicals come in. I have it memorize the Protestant way... "The next day Moses entered the Tent of the Testimony and saw that Aaron's staff, which represented the house of Levi, had not only sprouted but had budded, blossomed and produced almonds." --Numbers 17:8 Edited April 10, 2004 by homeschoolmom
VeraMaria
The LORD, your God, has so multiplied you that you are now as numerous as the stars in the sky. May the LORD, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand times over, and bless you as he promised! -Deut 10-

VeraMaria
And Samson said, "Let me die with the Philistines!" He pushed hard, and the temple fell upon the lords and all the people who were in it. Those he killed at his death were more than those he had killed during his lifetime. Judges 16:

He carries me
Now the Lord came and stood there, calling as before, "Samuel! Samuel!" And Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is listening." 1 Samuel 3:10 Thanks for the great references!! Let's keep it going (I have a little bit of an explanation in my Catholic Youth Bible that I'd like to share about this verse: Eli taught Samuel to listen to God's voice with a simple sentence...Let's look at this sentence as a prayer: "Speak, Lord...." This is an invitation. It shows openness and readiness. It shows your recognition of God: "You are the Almighty, and I am ready to hear what you have to say." "...for your servant..." This shows humility. It is a recognition of yourself: "I am your servant. It is my desire to do what you want. My life's purpose is to serve you." "...is listening." This demonstrates your response: "I am not going to ignore you. I am not going to daydream or just pretend to pay attention. I will take in your message and it will become a part of me.") prov31girl
2 Samuel 9 David then took up residence in the fortress and called it the City of David. He built up the area around it, from the supporting terraces [3] inward. 10 And he became more and more powerful, because the LORD God Almighty was with him. Theoketos
10 It pleased the Lord that Solomon had asked this. 11 And God said to him, "Because you have asked this, and have not asked for yourself long life or riches or the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern what is right, 12 behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you. 13 I give you also what you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that no other king shall compare with you, all your days. 14 And if you will walk in my ways, keeping my statutes and my commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days." 1 Kings 3 : 10-
He carries me
A man came from Baalshalishah, bringing food from the first fruits to the man of God: twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain in his sack. Elisha said, "Give it to the people and let them eat." But his servant said, "How can I set this before a hundred people?" So he repeated, "Give it to the people and let them eat, for theus says the LORD, 'They shall eat and have some left.'" He set it before them, they ate, and had some left, according to the word of the LORD. 2 Kings 4:42-
