Happy_Catholic
This happens in New Zealand, and I've ranted about it accordingly. In fact, in most parishes I've been in, this is the case. Especially now that churches are removing the pews. I think its dispicable, if an old man who walks with a cane can get down on the stone floor on his knees when our Lord is present, then what the heck is the excuse of the young people slouching around like they're waiting for the line at the buffet to thin a bit? KeenanParkerII
Luigi and whoever else was talking about "Heresy", it was a humorous word choice. soo.. yes, when people make mistakes, one should politely point it out. I think that is common fair! I may be wrong here, but the difference between kneeling and not is the difference between his (Jesus) spiritual presence, and his 'actual-self' which is present after transubstantiation.
The architecture of Catholic Churches has been in denial of the transcendent for decades. Its not surprising that a generation of Catholics raised in this atmosphere don't mind the removal of vestiges such as kneelers that recall an older transcendent experience with which they are out of touch.
In my experience, which may be quite limited compared to others, I have found that parishes and priests that take liberties in being obedient to the GIRM also are rather heterodox and take liberties in other ways. I am of the opinion that the reduction of religious posturing inherent to our liturgy as it exists in the English-speaking world has played a significant role in the declining acknowledgment of the True Presence. Va bene! Forgive my misreading. They'll be hosting a program on the renewal of transcendent architecture. You may find it interesting--I'm sure it's on their listings.
Va bene! Forgive my misreading. tinytherese
Also, a bishop can allow a parish to stand during the consecration if he sees fit, but not sit down!

Isn't He always present in the building, being in the tabernacle? We sit back down after every is done receiving Communion. Is that okay?
We genuflect whever we pass in front of the most holy Sacrament reposed in the tabernacle.
