Oh, I forgot to add...

I do consider submission to God the most important reason for veiling. I think that we have to protect men with our modesty, but I'm not too worried about hair causing problems (at least I've never heard it does--though I could believe it).

However, on that topic, because I do have very long (and I would objectively say, nice-looking hair), I really never let it down when I'm in public. Literally, I mean! I just don't feel right wearing my hair in such a way that it is just free-flowing. I either wear it in a pony-tail or braid or I pull some of it back and let the rest be loose. Perhaps I'm scrupulous, but I see it as a way of sacrificing my pride in its beauty (and my interest in attracting attention by it) as Saint Clare did when she had her lovely hair cut off!
