Humeral Veil?

i thought they used it to distinguish that it is Christ giving the Benediction, and not the priest? :unsure: that's what i was told.

Veils in general in the Church show the presence of the Lord in the Eucharist. The chalice veil covers the chalice as a symbol that Christ will soon be present. Women wore veils to mass also as a symbol of being in Christ's presence. The idea of veils covering goes back to the Jewish tent veil that covered the resting place of the Ark of the Covenant.
