At least they made good use of a rather bland church. It does make me a little sad when the churches that had beautiful architecture are vacated and converted for other uses though.

Though one of my favorite restaurants back home was converted from a little old country church. Extremely cute and great food.

The quote from the Archbishop is unbelievably lame. Why does he even have to say anything about it?

“Jesus liked to have fun, when he walked into the temple and started teaching the high priests, so he was having fun. So I’m pretty sure the people that are going to come into this church for recreational activities, I’m sure the Lord will be watching from above and say, ‘Yeah, I like this."

That is pretty hokey. I never imagined Jesus teaching high priests as if it were recreational activity and a kick in the pants. The Archbishop is referring to it as if it were still a church, when it's not really a church anymore. I guess he was trying to be interesting and supportive. As stated above perhaps it's being quoted not entirely in its context.

Though if they discontinued the church because of lack of support and attendance, I don't know if the Lord would find it so amusing.

Of course, leave it to Quebec to convert a church to anything else and be happy about it.
