We're non sexist these days. Female movie stars are termed actors so the sister would be a hero. :D

You know what's sexist? To insist on using masculine nouns for women, as though we've got to give them a linguistic hand up to join the proud ranks of apparently superior masculine gender. Also sexist is using gender-neutral terms as though we've got to condescendingly level the playing field to accomodate them. The assumption that it's sexist to refer to a female who acts as an "actress" itself casts aspersions upon the female sex, as though it were a lesser sex.

That is my favorite Buckley shirt.
This is the best picture I have of it:

It says "don't let them etc." on the sleeve is Buckley's motto: roughly translated, what's licit for God isn't licit for cows ... "

I take pride in being a heroine. You know in France, most things have the male gender, so french feminists want to invent a feminine version. It is exactly the opposite. They are mad they get called "hero"; they want to be called heroine.

OK, whatever! but it wasn't me who decided to use neutral terms. It sounds a bit like a no win situation though. If you give them a different rank your sexist because you're not making them comparable to males, but if you give them the same rank you're sexist because you're patronising them. :sadder:

Based on the main text, it seems more of an Eric Voegelin shirt.

You did decide to use neutral terms. Though you were not the initiator of the concept, you decided to try to "correct" me into supporting their use.

You're still falling into their ideological nonsense, of "rank." Which "ranks higher?" A Bishop in an Eastern Rite, or a Bishop in the Roman Rite? Their "rank" is the same, but while they share the same nature as bishops, their rites are very dissimilar. Which is a "better," material, steel or aluminum? Each metal is exclusively indispensable for certain roles, and completely inappropriate in other roles.

The difference between the sexes is, well, like a finely crafted pistol. You can make the frame, the supporting structure, out of aluminum. It's a fine metal for that. The barrel, however, is never made out of aluminum, because by its unique nature and properties, it is not suited to that task. Any attempt to force it to play that role would have unpleasant results. If you want an unnecessarily heavy and corrosion-prone pistol, use only blued steel, by all means. Don't tack any lightness or beauty onto it by adding polished wooden grips.

What is patronizing is to lie to women (and men) by saying, "We're totally the same in every way," in order to make each sex (not "gender," for all that is sweet) feel better about their respective weaknesses. Recognize, accept and embrace differences. Isn't that what all this P.C. "diversity" rubbish is supposed to be about in the first place?

How is it that ships, while they can be extremely powerful, are always called "she?" Because they usually possess more feminine attributes: beauty, tranquility, gracefulness and sleekness. Of course, there are some Zodiacs and airboats zipping about. We're not sure what to call those.

I thought guns were supposed to be an extension of some part of the male anatomy? BTW does it have a hair trigger! It was just a half joking Winchester type comment I made. I wasn't really wanting to start a sexist riot. I can get into enough trouble with my religious posts without that.
