Happy_Catholic
The real question, is what will we call the 00's. The Zeros, the Oughts, Naughts, the Double Nils?
I was calling it the "naughties". But to show you guys how boring it is down under, they had twenty minutes of a half hour current affairs programme devoted to this topic. They had assembled a panel of "experts" to discus the pros and cons of 20-10 and 2000-10. Since Im' a patient person who's never in a rush, I say two thousand and ten. More syllables. zunshynn
two thousand ten... We can't call it twenty ten until it's over and history. That is an authoritative statement, just so you know.
Marie-Therese
I use both. As far as the previous decade goes, on a personal level, I prefer not to refer to it at all. It was so terrible I'd prefer to pretend it never happened and just move on to the next one. LOL
dominicansoul
the previous decade is the "twenty-ohs." the next decade is the "twenty-tweens."
laetitia crucis
I'm more likely to use "two thousand ten" rather than "twenty-ten". I just think it sounds nicer. (Or maybe I just like the way "thousand" sounds when spoken aloud. ) As for the 00's -- what did people call 1900-1909? The "Early Nineteen-Hundreds"? I suppose in our case, "Early Twenty-Hundreds" doesn't quite roll off the tongue as nicely...?
Resurrexi
It's two-thousand and ten.
