I will go to confession though after wards I may feel better but not totally wonderful like I feel like I should.
Am I doing something wrong?
I have been trying to go at least once every two weeks. But I am not feeling totally wonderful after I leave- I have also been trying to stay with it and not get discourage but some days it's like what's the point if I don't feel totally better? People talk about having a sense of peace after confession...which I sort ve feel but it's not like amazing!

I guess I am just looking for support and wondering if this happens to you?

Just remember that emotions can be fickle. I don't always feel wonderful or incredibly changed after Confession, but I know that I've been given grace. Just as I don't always feel absolutely elated after receiving the Eucharist, sad to say, and yet I know I've received His Body and Blood and been given grace in that. I guess what I'm saying is that the important part is recognising that the Sacrament "worked", so to speak, regardless of our emotions.

That's great, PG! Going to confession frequently is one of the best habits you can get into. :)

I agree with what Archaeology Cat said. We don't always have great emotions after confession, but that doesn't meat that we've done anything wrong. :)

Sometimes God grants us the emotions when we first start turning back to Him-- in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, receiving Holy Eucharist, prayer, etc to help us know that we're on the right path and that what we're doing is very very pleasing to Him. But then, when we begin to make a habit of these things, He starts giving these favors less often. Not because He's unhappy with us-- on the contrary, He's very happy with us! But by removing these favors or giving them less often, He grants us the grace of loving Him and doing these things not because they feel good, but out of love for Him. It's a way of purifying our love for Him.

So don't fret. Keep going on strong and know that by doing so you are a great joy to Him!

You don't have to feel wonderful about it--like most things in life, it's not always going to feel awesome and exciting. :) Don't worry about your feelings. As long as you know that you've been forgiven, you're perfectly normal.

I went to confession just a couple of days ago and it was awesome! But I have had times when confession wasn't the greatest, but I knew God's mercy was at hand. Its the best time of year to go to confession!

I just came home from going to confession. I was a bit anxious but now I am at peace and have a better understanding of some difficulties. Actually, I feel as light as a snowflake...and sooooo loved by God.

Even if we don't always feel really happy after Confession, God does! And isn't pleasing Him much more important than pleasing ourselves?

Ditto what everyone else said about feelings - I'm pretty sure it happens to everyone. In addition to not always feeling great after Confession, I used to get horribly tempted in various ways after Confession & Mass.

Just have faith & keep seeking God!

When I feel that way it is usually because I have forgotten to forgive myself.

Have to agree with that. I try my best to remember every sin.
