Resurrexi
What are your family's traditions in regards to meals on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? Do you have ham, roast been, turkey, or salmon, or something else? Does anyone have a large meal following Midnight Mass?
Moosey
We practice the Italian Christmas Eve tradition of a feast of fish, e.i. shrimp, mussels to name a couple. We're having ham for Christmas morning and we demolish the gingerbread house (Daniel wants to shoot it with his airsoft gun first this year ) We usually eat all the sweets we baked a couple of weeks before (in this year's case, a week before) Christmas. CatherineM
We put out a buffet all day on Christmas Eve, and open our home to anyone in the neighborhood or parish who don't have a place to go. I do different themes every year just to keep from getting bored. This year I'm doing a taco bar. Beef with traditional taco seasoning, pork with the red chilies I use for my tamales, and turkey with green chilies. Soft and hard tortillas, two kinds of grated coagulated milk, and hot queso too. When I was a kid, we always had tamales on Christmas Eve that my Godmother made, with Mexican hot chocolate so we could stay awake during Midnight Mass. Christmas day we went to my Grandmother's house for turkey and ham. My grandmother's house is now under the parking lot for a Lutheran church, and that's a long way in both time and space, so I have now made my own traditions. homeschoolmom
I usually don't make a Christmas dinner. Since it is just the five of us, we have a big Christmas Day brunch-- Egg dish, coffee cake, bacon, egg nog-- stuff I don't make much any other time. This year, however, I also got us a ham. So, I don't know if we will have a breakfast ham or if I'll just make it later in the day (with just mashed potatoes as sides). My friend says that ham is not an appropriate dish for a Jewish birthday...

Archaeology cat
Growing up, we had turkey at my grandmother's house. My husband and I tend to alternate between a Christmas Peking duck, or Christmas lasagne. Going with the duck this year.
