Divorced Remarried And Confused

Hi

I converted to Catholicism afew years ago. I had already been married and divorced. I chose to marry again in a church of another denomination. Not being from a Catholic background I didnt realise the implications. I want to live a good life that is pleasing to God and be a good Catholic but it seems as though I am in a permanent state of sin. I love my husband very much. What is the answer???

I'm sorry to say that there are too many factors for us to give you a simple answer here based on limited information. Even if we could give you the answer, Church law doesn't give Phatmass or any of the priests here (I'm not one of them) the jurisdiction to make decisions in your case, so it would be non-binding. We wouldn't want to give you an answer that would be at odds with those in whose jurisdiction you are. The best thing to do would be to go to your parish priest and ask for your diocesan tribunal to look into the matter.
