Is there an answered prayer or something that happened that was a million-to-one "coincidence," and that you are certain was meant to be? I'm not referring to what is an ordinary part of our faith or the "miracle" of a sunset or a baby being born, but of something that is remarkable and out-of-the-ordinary, and something you could reflect upon if you ever had doubts about your faith. I'm entirely conceded to the Church now, but it took a long time getting there. But you know how some movie directors do funny things, like taking an object that means something to them and inconspicuously placing it in scenes throughout every movie they make? kamiller42 Posted December 16, 2009 Share Posted December 16, 2009 When I was a kid, my brothers and I were riding bikes on the side of a country road that was being widened. I stupidly road on the small shoulder of the existing 2 lane road. They road on the dirt where the road was being expanded. A deep ditch separated me from them. Traffic is always heavy on this road. I was riding along and I hit something on the path causing my bike to fall into traffic. I look up and see the wheel of a large delivery truck right at my head. The truck swerved a little to the left to avoid taking my head off. This caused it to have a minor collision with traffic in the other lane. The vehicles scraped sides. I should have died, but my guardian angel made sure that truck jerk to the left just enough to save my head. Is this a miracle? I don't know. Divine intervention? I think so. zunshynn Posted December 16, 2009 Share Posted December 16, 2009 I went to see the Passion of the Christ when I was in high school so I could write an extra-credit paper about how it was anti-semitic for a teacher who was an atheist and ended up having a conversion. sacredheartandbloodofjesus Posted December 16, 2009 Share Posted December 16, 2009 -Jesus came to me personally, revealed Himself and spoke to me and I was converted from a life of impurity and wickedness. -I heard that if you prayed at 3 o'clock(time of Jesus's crucifixion) and asked the Father for anything in Jesus's name it would be granted(as long as its for your salvation). Well at the time I really wanted a Douay-Rhiems Bible because I didnt like the protestant ones we had. So I asked The Father for one in light of Jesus's passion. And I called up Catholic book shops and all types of places and they didnt even know what these Bibles were. So I had a last ditch effort going to an antique shop and was looking everywhere until the place was closing...I was on my way out the shop but I had an urge to check the book section one more time, lo and behold there was a Douay Rheims Bishop Challoner edition right there only one and it was from like 1945 or sumthin like that. I was thinking this is gonna be expensive cuz its so big and old.....6 bucks . I will always remember that as a direct answer to my prayer. -I was riding my bike with my younger brother to our local parish and my brother was swerving all over the sidewalk cuz he didnt know how to ride very well. So I did the guardian angel prayer asking my guardian angel to protect us, especially my brother. About 8 seconds after this prayer we were going across the cross walk when all of a sudden some guy decided to make a right without looking and ran me over and didnt notice so kept on going, thank God and my angel that my handle bar got pinned under his front bumper and let the guy know sumthying was under there and he stopped the vehicle. I walked away with a bike all twisted up and only a couple bruised shins. Can you say Guardian Angel in action! I have a few more stories like these but cant recall them at the moment. See, thats the problem we seem to go about the day forgetting all the good things God has done for us so we start to lose faith,trust and love. sacredheartandbloodofjesus Posted December 16, 2009 Share Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) I also had a dream before my conversion where we were watching the news then they started broadcasting a huge comet coming at the Earth and they had a countdown of when it would hit and it was pretty much down to the seconds so I went outside to look and there it was streaking towards earth and it was huge! I went back in my house then boooommmm!!! It hit and our whole house was filled with like hazy yellowy gas or dust and time stopped right then.......I was like inside my concience and God was showing me all my sins(like a highlight reel) and how they effected me and how I shoulda went to confession and I started crying and was sorry and resolved to go to confession if I survived(It kinda was like the heavens were peeled back and we were exposed to God and his justice). Then time started again and everybody in my house was shaken and it was still all dusty and hazy...then I woke up and boy was I convicted and afraid and desiring confession....sad thing is It still took Jesus to come to me in person months later to convert my heart. When you are disabled, it is hard to know when you have simply accepted your condition, and when you have given up hope of getting better. I had long ago quit praying to get better. One morning, I woke up with not only the conviction that I could get better, but that I would. God had healed my spirit so that I could heal my body. I'm convinced that it wasn't in answer to my prayers, since I hadn't prayed for healing in a long time. I truly believe that it was in answer to my husband's prayer for a wife to share his life with. We had some homeless prostitues move in to the backyard of our next door house for sale. In the back yard there was a big doghouse that they lived in. Well this is after my conversion and I used to read the Bible and pray alot in our back yard and I would hear them next door in the backyard cussing, and fighting and talking about wicked things. So I finally got sick of it, and one day I said some prayers and threw a miraculous medal in the back yard at the doghouse they were staying in, because my Mom told me about how its been known to burn down strip clubs and close down abortion clinics so I had faith in it . Well I tottaly fogot about this and one night while me and my brothers were talking about spiritual things a huge explosion happened and it shook our house and our lights flickered . We thought it was the hot water heater or sumthin, but a lady came and knocked at our door and said "your guys's back yard is on fire" so we ran out there and it wasnt our back yard but the next door house. We found out from the cops who did the search that it was the doghouse that blew up.... p.s. I knew of a fireman who was with a cop and another fireman who were trying to break into a meth lab and when he look up he saw a security camera was watching them. The guy who was doing the meth had the door rigged ready to blow the second they opend the door and walked in. If it was not for my older brother's prayers I would have never been born.
