What is presently called "Judaism" is not the revealed religion of the Old Testament but a man made religion that came into existence after the destruction of the Temple. Despite the Church's difference in appearance, and the fact that the majority are Gentiles, we continue the divinely instituted Priesthood and the Holy Sacrifice which were essential components of the OT religion.

According to Jewish Law, Jewishness is determined by the status of the mother, who must herself have been born to a Jewish mother, or have converted [according to Jewish Law]. Further, a Jew accepts upon himself the "yoke of the Commandments" at bar mitzvah, and lives according to Jewish Law. Your religion just developed as a response to Christianity, which is the true and natural fulfillment of Old Testament Judaism.
