Ehi, what does this mean?

(Bologna is my city's name! :) )

Interestingly enough, saying something is bologna or full of bologna is identical to saying it's garbage. :P
It's also a type of sausage.

Bologna here is like Mortadella that has been made only out of pigs and cow's hooves and lips.

Then stuffed into their intestines. :D

Sausage is awesome. Great example of not wasting stuff.

Uhm, this is really interesting!
Yes, Mortadella Bologna was invented in my city, as you can see here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortadella

but I didn't know of this second meaning...like gabbage.
Yes, of course it has its sense if I think to mortadella...really very good!!

Other typicall products originated in my city that I strongly recommend are:

tortellini:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tortellini

lasagne:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lasagna

tagliatelle:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tagliatelle

cotechino (well, this was originated in Modena but it is very popular also in Bologna):
http://www.globalgourmet.com/food/egg/egg0396/cotlentl.html

These foods can't absolutely miss in a bolognese family Christmas lunch (in particular tortellini and cotechino)!!

Uhm...I'm already hungry!! ;)
