MithLuin Posted December 14, 2009 Share Posted December 14, 2009 Germany's mandatory education laws are a headache not just to Christian parents, but also to Muslim families, who often would like to opt out of certain activities (ie, females in gym class or the like). While certainly homeschooling can be abused (think compounds built by cults, in which the children are not allowed any contact with the outside world), to penalize these families so heavily when they are just looking out for the best interests of their kids is just...so so sad.
