I mean, I don't know the exact answer or anything, but from what I've heard thus far, it doesn't sound like H1N1 has been any more deadly than seasonal flu. I could be wrong, of course.
At this point, that's true. However, keep in mind that this first outbreak has been significantly shorter than the regular flu season. In addition, there has been a mass campaign to prevent spreading of the virus and people have become more conscious with their hygiene and preventing the spread. We'll never really know if it has been worse than the regular flu because it will never have the chance to be the same as the other strains. During the regular flu season, most people don't take the time to avoid it. People actively try to avoid H1N1. Because of this, we should se decreased numbers of both H1N1 and the seasonal flu. And I also saw that they stated that the vast majority of cases were quite mild and thus went unreported. I know here they don't swab you, so the numbers are those with flu-like symptoms.
Probably statistically sampling, but the numbers the administration put out are poppycock. This administration has been notorious for using bogus numbers. "It's fuzzy math!" Some facebook friends of mine have been using that as a middle initial. I could see the sarcasm running down the text off my monitor.
