iheartjp2
You totally forgot Demon Hunter. They're overtly Christian and they're pretty much the definition of awesome.
Jesus_lol
Yeah, Nightwish´s music is beautiful, however, their lyrics not so much. They definitely have different morals than we do. I would love to find a band that sounds like them, but has better lyrics. I had a list of the songs that I thought were decent, lyric wise, such as their cover for Phantom of the Opera, but have left it at my home a thousand miles away, so won´t be gettting to that at least until Christmas time. "Over the Hills and Far Away" as you had mentioned is also a good song. Thanks for the list, I´m going to go through it and see if I like any of these as well as pass it along to some friends. I also like metal and I must agree that it is an acquired taste although I am more into Symphonic metal and Thrash as opposed to classic metal. Although I must admit that I am by no means an expert and may change my mind if I listend to more. Ok and just a question, deathrock is not the same as death metal is it?
not quite. i would say it is some of the guitar and drums, and maybe a little of the vocals of death metal, but playing more classic rock style guitar. i dunno, cant say i have much experience with the subgenre
You totally forgot Demon Hunter. They're overtly Christian and they're pretty much the definition of awesome.
yup, only heard a song or two by them, they arent bad. i should have included them, but they werent in my library. Demon Hunter - overtly christian and pretty much the definition of awesome. Edited November 30, 2009 by Jesus_lol

Jesus_lol
edited? well, Demon Hunter is pretty good, but looking into Woe of Tyrants i am finding them more of a christian band than i had thought, and imo the far superior band. pretty much every song that isnt instrumental on their album "Kingdom Of Might" is about God or Christ in some way. so these guys should be at the top of my list. http://www.songlyric...tyrants-lyrics/ here is an instrumental rocker by them http://www.youtube.c...h?v=X0SiX4h1f4Y and one with some christian lyrics(printed below) http://www.youtube.c...from=PL&index=3
But my, the pearls still shine; ignited by the fiery eyes. My God, Ican't bare it, let me roll amidst this mud, so far I've found theanswer in this pen, don't take it away! I think it's right, it feelsright, just let me stay content. I can't see the truth, it's just toobright. I'll grant the anarchy is raging in this sty I call my home, and the flies that squeal around me direct which way I'll go, but thisis not enough to cause me to stop and think of the world. All of thecreatures, outside the walls, running so free and clear. With no cageto keep them in check. The food which they eat is growing from seeds, which come from the branches just overhead. The trees which areshowered with light and rain, abundantly from above. I'll consumealmost anything I see, while avoiding the pearls as they're way tooshiny to eat. I'll stick to the mud where I can stand, for as long as Ican. The storm is rising, my feats are dying in a whirlwind of empty, filthy lies. Lies! Day is gone, the moon is not giving me enough tosee. I wander aimlessly across the soil, until the light hits my feet. And the creatures running free with pearls around their neck theysee... It's in the darkest part of life, that I can recognize the needfor the light of the night to be in me.
Edited November 30, 2009 by Jesus_lol
ahah, personally thats because i think they are terrible. i would be incredibly surprised if they had any religious affiliation one way or another, so i guess they are "safe", but there are MUCH better similar bands. ones with real rhythm guitar underneath not just (ok quick i need 3 chords played very boringly so i can start showing off!) Vincent Vega
Plutonium, lead, osmium, irridium, gold, tungsten, and uranium are all secular, as far as I can tell.
It's too bad; I always did like the uniqueness of mercury. On the other hand, osmium and iridium are both good. I have an iridi-osmium nib fountain pen. They make extremely good nibs, either in their pure forms or as an alloy. Very expensive metals though, on their own, so they don't generally use much. DemonSlayer
Impending Doom, while "Christian", are very anti-Catholic/religion. Iron Maiden had an extremely anti-Catholic song called Montségur from the album Dance of Death.
sacredheartandbloodofjesus
What about the Catholic Monk/Priest Fratello Metallo?? I personally dont like any Metal.
sacredheartandbloodofjesus
Is Heavy Metal even considered music? Because Ive heard that music is the silence in between the instruments. And it seems as if there is no silence in Heavy Metal or DM or BM.
DemonSlayer
Fratello Metallo is no more.
