I only have one good idea right now. Need more. Especially the ones that don't cost much money or are free.
What kinda stuff does she like to do? Also, as far as topics go, music is always a good starter, I've found. Also, ask her what she likes to do, and try to do that.
Era Might
Any other phone advice?
As I see it, the most important moment in the phone call is the moment after you say "hello." Since you apparently don't know her well enough to be calling her out of the blue, there has to be some reason that you are calling. HER: Hello? You: Hi, this is Paddington. HER: Hi! How are you? You: I'm good. What are you up to? HER: Oh, nothing, I'm just rearranging my tupperware cabinet. You: Oh, cool. HER: Yeah... Now, implicit in that "Yeah..." is an uncertainty about why you are calling her. This is the most crucial moment in the conversation. Determine beforehand what you are going to say at this point in the conversation. You don't want it to be an awkward silence. If you do this part correctly, the rest of the phone call will take care of itself.
Nihil Obstat
Omg, no. Awkward silence! See how long you can draw it out. You get one point for every five seconds before she says anything. Two points for every time she says something like "so.....?" and trails off expecting you to say something.
zunshynn
Ask what she's wearing. Girls love that. It shows you care about things that are important to her. I'd recommend bringing up something about herself that she's mentioned to you recently, if she's mentioned anything. I'd be willing to bet that she'd like that you remembered and thought about it.
Ignore him. That is the worst suggestion I've ever heard. Nihil is trying to get you blacklisted in the dating market. Actually, the second idea is good. But don't even think about the first. That could go in numerous directions, and none of them are good.
Well, if you really insist on free, you can always protest in front of an abortion clinic. But I think an excellent first date idea is ice skating. And if she is not a good skater but ytou are, she will be holding on to your hand.

zunshynn
I am relaxed. I didn't set anything on fire today. Life is good. I do need to figure out how to do my dreaded econ paper though. I'm a little tense about that. And my english discussions. Somehow, I feel they should write themselves while I'm phatmassing. But it doesnt seem to be working. Nihil Obstat
I'm finishing off a philosophy paper tomorrow. I'm defending libertarian free will via Roderick Chisholm's theory of Agent Causation. I like it because it leaves plenty of room for a metaphysical soul.
