Just working off memory here, but we know who the first patient was, don't we? Little boy in Mexico, last fall? (I can look it up if this isn't ringing bells.) Besides, it's a lame, wimpy flu so far. If it was engineered, they did a bad job!

If it was engineered, they did a bad job!
It's a combination avian, swine, and human flu. If it was engineered, they did a fantastic job. If it was engineered, it might not have been designed to be lethal, just probationary. It would be the best way in the world to further epidemiology, by tracking an already-known strain from day one. Not that I believe it is a deliberately-created virus that was deliberately set loose. But neither would I put it past some banally evil scientists doing so with the blessing of the State, as long as the innocents who died did so "for the common good." ~Sternhauser Edited November 23, 2009 by Sternhauser

CatherineM
There are people who say the same thing about AIDS. I got my H1N1 shot 10 days ago, and it sure made my arm hurt, almost as bad as a tetanus shot.
Sternhauser
With psychotic John "if the population control measures are not initiated immediately, and effectively, all the technology man can bring to bear will not fend off the misery to come" Holdren in the President's employ, can anyone dismiss the idea that these or similar maniacs in power would deliberately let a virus loose? These are men, of course, who spoke approvingly of mass forced abortions. Their moral compasses were manufactured in the Bermuda Triangle. ~Sternhauser Edited November 24, 2009 by Sternhauser

I double-checked (and wow, is my sense of time off... been busy!!) but yes, the origin was determined to be a pig farm in Mexico, earlier this year. Really, if anyone was going to engineer anything, a flu strain is kind of a waste. They mutate into highly contagious and/or killer strains all the time on their own.
Sorry, was responding more to the linked newsletter in the original post, which appears to be trying to relate some strain of flu accidentally released by "Baxter," and an outbreak of illness in the Ukraine, with the current H1N1 pandemic. People need to work a little harder on their conspiracy theories. At least try to match the established facts!
