Does Anyone Here Smoke?

I thought Bloomberg just reversed the decision to ban smoking in restaurants and bars? Did he reverse it again? I can't keep up with him.

For all you hotshots who love to smoke, I issue the following challenge. In about 5-10 years try to do a double shift on the ice with me during a hockey game. Or step in the ring and let's see how many rounds you can survive.

Either that, or would you make me your beneficiary on your life insurance policies?

my hubby smokes but I do not.

*side note: he has said though, that when I get pregnant he's quitting.*

My dad quit when I was a baby. He had me outside and held me up and was showing me to his friends and said I smelled like smoke. I was only a little baby, I couldn't get away from it. He stopped as soon as he could after that.

The only smoking I think is okay (I don't ever plan on smoking anything) is a cigar every once in a while. And smoking a pipe in moderation isn't too bad either. But cigarettes make me literally sick....just the secondhand smoke makes me puke.

[quote name='PedroX' date='Apr 7 2004, 09:46 AM'] PSPX,

I knew you were cool.  I actually have my own smoking room.  Surrounded by my books and fine art, there's nothing better than a smoke, a glass of port, and good conversation.

As much as it pains me to agree with a compliment to PSPX ;) ^_^ , I'm 100% with you on this one PedroX.

I love to smoke pipes and cigars. In fact, I love to smoke Habanas in particular. This summer I'm making a little drive to our neighbors north of the border, eh, and I'm gonna pick me up some smokes at my favorite little Cuban cigar shop.

Man I wish I had a smoking room. Sometimes I just smoke on the porch of my office.

Pace.

If you're caught bringing them through the border checkpoint they will be confiscated.

I am fully aware Norseman. I've only done it, about 20 times before. I usually mail some to myself too.

I know. All illegal . . . I'm breaking the law, breaking the law!

Ash Wednesday

I used to smoke a cigar each New Year's eve in my previous relationship. I still know how to blow smoke rings. Not really my thing now because I think of my low life ex. (sorry... that isn't nice)

I can't stand cigarettes generally. I have a good friend (very devout Catholic) who smokes, and she wishes she didn't have to, but she's tried to quit so many times and can't stop. She's addicted. I used to not think much of accusations that tobacco companies like Philip Morris making cigs addictive but now I wonder.... :sadder:

He hasn't reversed it yet and I don't think he will. But in the meantime Pataki instituted the state smoking ban so there still won't be any smoking in bars or restuarants anyway. I agree with the ban on smoking in restuarants but for the bars I think it's a little ridiculous. I mean it's illegal to smoke in the bar, but it's also illegal to bring your drink outside the bar .

I'm honored to have been complimented by two men of such caliber. I too wish I had a smoking room, but the contract for my apartment does not allow it. So I have to head outside. Someday though. Someday....
