EIGHT DAYS!!!

I am going to Canada in eight days after a really rough semester. I get to go to his concert and I get to snuggle. And get out of the swamp!!!!

And this makes me happy especially because this week I realized how much farther I've come towards recovery from childhood sexual abuse in the last 6 months than in the past 7 years. And it feels wonderful to be free from so much of that. ^_^

aaaah I can't wait!

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

i wrote this the other day. Idk if Jeff would like this to be posted, but right now I am soooo grateful to feel... free that I feel like I should tell the whole world how great he is. :hehehe:
I think that this Thanksgiving - though it will not even be celebrated with my family in this country - I have the most to be Thankful for that I've ever had.

My family loves me. My family gets to be with my dad. I am almost finished with school (i hope). My friends are amazing and my boyfriend loves me. A lot. And although it is technically our second Thanksgiving as a couple, it is the first that I can really express how grateful I am to him.

His love brought me out of a pretty deep "bleh" phase of life. Having been sexually abused as a kid and just switching schools partly because of a stalker would throw anyone into one of those, I think. But he was always an attentive ear and a sympathetic friend. His friendship was pretty freakin' awesome (as I realized one day when he couldn't be online and I wanted to talk to him). So awesome that when he told me he liked me, I blushed and got butterflies and went to bed so happy.

And since then it's been great. But these last few months, I feel as if I have come farther than in the past 7 years towards recovery from abuse. When he came, he held me and me made feel so safe. At one point, he had my hand in both of his and they were resting on my leg. For 14 years, I have flinched at a touch there. Sometimes slapped. Not so for him. He wanted to kiss me, I was too anxious (from past memories) to let him. He just held me more. And told me he loved me and that I was beautiful. He didn't push or pressure. He just held me.

I am happier now than I can remember being in a long time. And I don't flinch as much. Even my mother has noticed. So for thanksgiving, I am flying to Canada. To give him a kiss.
I love him.

That was wonderful to read, Missionseeker. I am very happy to read the progress youve made in so short a time. I am glad that my prayers for your emotional, physical, and spiritual health have been answered in this way.

Affectionately,
Br. Bruno, OSB
