Servus_Mariae
Then why the certainty as to the rejection of theism? Agnosticism seems a more acceptable step...not asserting that God exists but not assuming He doesn't either. Why the certainty God doesn't exist?
this is a rather legitimate question, Varg. obviously your not completely rejecting the possibility of a god, otherwise i can't fathom why you hang around here. Agnosticism is a more open-minded view of things. bottom-line: you and i haven't been convinced with a satisfactory for a god. And we are not going to assume there is a god because we don't know how the heck we got here. but we are not satisfied with ignorance to our own existence. So i think Agnosticism is a better bet. unless you a an Atheist just for the sake of being rebellious
Knight of Christ gave a general answer which is similar to mine, in that God is the uncaused cause. I subscribe to the Thomistic approach to metaphysics in the I believe God to be reality itself. So...what caused reality? Anyway...you answered my question with a question and I answered with another question and have one more: How do you know God didn't get here?
