whatever else you catholics like. you name it, i hate it.

Do you hate anything that some Kathlick out there happens to like or just stuff that Kathlicks as a whole generally like? I am Kathlick and I like many things so consider your answer carefully. If ur answer happens to be the latter then please specify the parameters by which such general likes can be identified. :annoyed:

Also, do you really, really, really hate all Kathlicks? Even Saint Therese and people like that? The big question then is why? Like, what is your damage? That's just messed up if it is true. :getaclue:

Although I do not condone violence, and I do not claim any authority which would justify the use of violence, I do claim that duty compels me to use a smiley that is a vivid depiction of violence, and clearly a representation of personal violence against an actual participant in this thread.

Maybe you just need to figure out what you are afraid of.

Yes.

You just hate the "godless" you. Let God back into your heart and you will be surprised at how different things seem. For some reason He can't seem to stop loving us  and that just seems to overflow after awhile. If you can't do it, ask Jesus if He will do it for you. I did this once, and well, let's just say that things have never been the same since!

Yes.

Any particular reason?
I doubt if you are much better or worse than the rest of us.

I have depression. Interestingly enough, my depression lessened remarkably when I stopped going to church.

Why?

Church soothes and comforts me. Is your depression physical (chemical) or affective (triggered by events)?

I will keep you in my prayers?

Thank you.

My depression was/is triggered by events. It was extremely depressing to sit there in church and hear sermons about how good and merciful God is, while horrible suffering is still happening in the world. I felt like the church building itself was completely empty and cold and that we were all praying and praising an unresponsive invisible being that may or may not exist.

Keep in mind that I've been a Catholic my entire life, and seriously started to rethink my faith 4 years ago after a tragic event. Since then my faith has gone downhill, and in the middle of going to college I stopped attending church because it was far too depressing. I wasn't thinking about suicide or committing it, but I thought a lot about death and what it would be like to die. I was crying a lot during the weeks and dreaded going to church like I dread going to the doctor. I felt like it was a huge waste of time and effort because no one's really listening to your prayers.

I have similar feelings. I've really been hating religion. In fact I'm not sure why I'm even on this board anymore. Time to move on probably.

I can almost hear satan laughing. So many times I've heard people say the same thing and I've felt it myself. But being bone headed I persist in annoying Jesus until he answers. Bear in mind that at the present time satan has power on the earth but Jesus is still in charge and more powerful. So many times has adversity and suffering come my way only to be countered by an event of 'coincidence'. Don't listen to the sermons or the people around you unless they are telling you something that you want/need to hear. The church doors are no barrier to satan. I have been extremely hurt by 'christians' and inside the church walls. But I don't take notice I talk to Jesus and if you believe he will answer.
