Phatmass Member Groups

The reason phatmass has the "Groups" feature is to make it easy for lurkers, newcomers and other members to easily distinguish who they can "trust" in regards to Church teaching, and who they shouldn't really take as an authority on matters.

Therefore, I've created an additional group called "Phishy". This will be the group I put those who claim to be Catholic, but make posts that lead me to believe that they do not conform to the authority of the Church.

So, here's the breakdown of ALL the groups:

Admin: That's me. Whassup.

Banned: Obviously, these members don't post much. haha

Phatmasser: Everyone starts in this group. The generic default.

Church Faithful: Members who have shown they are fully faithful and Orthodox to ALL church teaching. Recommended by other Church Faithful. Will be tagged with a Vatican flag icon.

Church Militant: Members who qualify for Church Faithful who have also shown a willingness and talent to defend Church teachings with Apologetics. Will be tagged with a Vatican flag + cross icon.

Church Scholar: Usually limited to Clergy and laypeople who have formal theology training. The only group able to answer questions in the Q&A board. Will be tagged with a Vatican flag + cross + sacred heart icon.

Clergy: Umm... clergy. Will be tagged with a Vatican flag + cross + sacred heart + monstrance icon.

Non-Catholic: Protestants, Muslims, Jews, etc. All of our non-Catholic friends. Will be tagged with a "I do not rep the Church" icon.

Phishy: Those claiming Catholicism who have show an unwillingness to submit to the full authority of the Church. Will be tagged with a "I do not rep the Church" icon.

So, there you have it. Is this more fair to the "Catholics" who I don't think are Catholic? Let me hear all the gripes.

Peas.

I think adding the "Phishy" classification was a good idea. And thanks for posting this, helps to know exactly what all the member groups mean.
God Bless,

What will you do with people like Adam and Teresa who aren't (technically) Catholic, but who are representing the faith? Are they Church Phaithful?

haha...

Well, they can remain phatmassers until reconciled... But I do have a deal running with Bro Adam right now giving him the opportunity to get in early. haha

I hope someday I will have been around long enough, posted enought and been orthodox enought to someday earn a cool title like church faithful, or church militant. I guess in the worst case I just have to wait 8 year and get the clergy title ( God willing) :D

Those are cool titles, dUSt. Catholic-in-waiting would be a cool title for peeps like Adam and Teresa who are in the process of converting to Catholicism. Adam could be "Church Militant-in-waiting." :P

God bless,

Jen
