dUSt
It seems like there was an issue with private messages being converted incorrectly during the phorum upgrade. Two things that have been noticed: 1. Any private message sent since the upgrade triggered an "approval" email being sent to the moderator team, with the contents of that private message shown in the email. 2. Old private messages (before the upgrade) were being displayed on member's status walls as person-to-person feed messages. I don't believe either of these things were suppose to happen. I have engaged the forum software's support department and am waiting on a fix. In the meantime, I have disabled the status feeds in profiles, and also disabled private messages until these issues can be resolved. Thanks! -dUSt Edited March 7, 2015 by dUSt

Nihil Obstat
GOOD THING NOBODY SAW THAT PRIVATE MESSAGE I SENT TO LITERALLY EVERYONE EXCEPT ONE PERSON TALKING ABOUT HOW AWFUL THAT ONE PERSON IS. THAT SURE WOULD HAVE BEEN EMBARRASSING. IF THAT ONE PERSON FOUND OUT. THE ONE PERSON WHO NEVER SAW THAT MESSAGE. IF THEY FOUND OUT THAT SURE WOULD HAVE BEEN AWKWARD. AccountDeleted
Sorry to hear about this as I sent a PM during this time that I intended only for the recipient because of its personal nature. I don't know if anyone else read it, but the fact that privacy was non-existent is really upsetting. I know it's no one's fault but it sure is a yucchy feeling. Is this an emoticon for 'shudder'? I would like to say that I've set up a fiddler to send all those messages to junk. Just as I wouldn't want anyone reading my PMs, I didn't want to read any of yours. AccountDeleted
LinkedIn is an evil empire trying to take over the world! If you can't remember your original log in details, you can never unsubscribe from their relentless emails. They go straight to spam now but I will probably have to change email addresses again to lose them completely. I am very phobic about privacy these days because it is slowly being eroded to the point of being almost non-existent. I used to be on Facebook and LinkedIn and other social media but not any more. I have several email addresses that I use for different things because once you are on an email subscription list, that's it, non-stop spam. Nowadays I leave a very small electronic footprint and I like this. Google my name and find nothing. Yes. Sounds like paranoia but you'd be paranoid too if everyone was out to get you!
