CrossCuT
Some of you may have seen this video circling on Facebook as I have, so I thought Id share it here for anyone who wanted to watch. It a cute little video about something that isnt altogether mind blowing or new, but something that I think we all forget. You might not agree with everything said in the video but the basic concept is something I think we all ought to practice more. I know I am not guilt free in this area but I do often times find that I am mentally coaching myself into a more positive mindset when faced with stressful, monotonous, or irritating situations. http://youtu.be/xmpYnxlEh0c

arfink
I liked it. And it reminded me of this music video about a guy who decides to change how he views the obnoxious and mundane.

Papist
The world would be a different place if ice did not float. When water is cooled down, it contracts, a little, until it gets down to about 39.2 F, when it begins to expand as the temperature goes down. Therefore, ice (solid water) is less dense than liquid water. And ice floats on liquid water. Something more serious would probably happen. In the winter, in the colder latitudes, ice would sink to the bottom of lakes and oceans. There it would probably sit, all summer, as the water above it would shield it from the sun. And the next winter, more ice would sink, until, after many winters, the lakes and oceans would be solid ice. In the temperate latitudes, lakes would freeze solid in the winter, making life difficult, and the top would probably melt in the summer. In the oceans, at temperate latitudes, the sinking ice would probably mix with salt water, and melt, on the way down. I suppose the tropics would be much as they are now. The bottom of the ocean (wherever it is deep enough) is very cold. Would ice form there? I don't know much of the physics involved. But, I think that we would have shallow oceans, resting on deep ice. The ice at the bottom of the ocean would probably have mud on top of it. Don't know if life would be possible if ice did not float, but if so it would be difficult.
homeschoolmom
Glad I watched the whole video, because I was about to go into a mad depression after about three minutes. It's better than my commencement speech: We were told that we only had two big ceremonies to look forward to: Wedding and funeral. I was already married. So, yeah...
CrossCuT
Glad I watched the whole video, because I was about to go into a mad depression after about three minutes. It's better than my commencement speech: We were told that we only had two big ceremonies to look forward to: Wedding and funeral. I was already married. So, yeah... Thats how I felt too. I was wonder where this video was going and it seemed like he went into such crazy detail with how horrible your day to day life can be. It made me sad too but it has a good pay off! :)
